About Milestones

Indoor fun for everyone!

Our Mission

The first of its kind in the State of Texas, Milestones Development & Play Park is a place where every child is special, regardless of their ability level.

Milestones brings the essence and feeling of a traditional, outside park, indoors. Children can play every day, whether it’s 100˚ outside, 20˚ or there are 50 mph winds.  In any kind of weather, it’s always a beautiful, 70˚ day inside Milestones Park!

But, it’s more than just a park. It is a place where parents can connect with their children and kids can experience the true joy of play together, embracing each other’s unique gifts.

Bryce & Cassie - Alstrom Angels

About Milestones

Milestones Development & Play Park is a community transformation project by Alström Angels, a 501(c)3 non-profit focused on raising awareness and funding research for a cure for Alström Syndrome. Throughout the years, the Alström Angels board chose to further its mission by creating a community transformation project. This project would further extend their outreach to include children of all abilities while providing an avenue to further raise awareness for Alström Syndrome. Milestones park is a place for all children to play, create, and grow. We hope the park impacts your family and creates a place to bond and have fun!

How Did Milestones Park Start?
Mission

Milestones Development & Play Park provides children of all ability levels with a stimulating environment that will allow them to play, learn, and share experiences. We encourage children and their families to embrace the true spirit of inclusion, creating an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding of everyone.

Accessibility

All play structures within Milestones are custom-made to allow access for every child to play and explore.  Each structure is oversized with wide walkways, so parents can play alongside their children.  Milestones’ supervised, uniquely designed play areas ensures children’s safety, while challenging them to reach, think, climb, interact, explore, and have fun!

Location

Through collaboration with the City of Lubbock, Milestones Development & Play Park will be located in the heart of McAlister Park.  Milestones’ future home is conveniently located next to Legacy Play Village and the Challenger Little League Field along the Marsha Sharp Highway and Milwaukee Avenue.

Timeline

The capital campaign to bring Milestones Park to life is in full swing and project completion is planned for the Fall of 2022.  Of course, the sooner the capital campaign is fulfilled, the quicker children and their families can begin to play, explore, and learn inside Milestones Park!
